[Bug 1252025] Re: Mute Key stays amber HP Pavilion DM1 laptop
Did this issue occur in a previous version of Ubuntu, or is this a new
issue?
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.12 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.
If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.
If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".
Thanks in advance.

Title:
Mute Key stays amber HP Pavilion DM1 laptop
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I am running Ubuntu 13.10 64 bit and everything works well with one
exception: The mute key on my laptop stays amber regardless of the
audio settings. Audio works regardless of the LED and the sound
indicator shows the correct setting of the audio output, but the LED
stays amber.
I have noticed that launching sound settings from the indicator does
cause the light to reflect correctly, but as soon as this is closed
the LED reverts back to amber. I can also confirm that this issue does
not exist in the Ubuntu Gnome community edition or Fedora with Gnome.
I only have this problem in Unity.
