[Bug 1049893] Re: Computer Freezes(Can move mouse and use CTRL+ALT+F12)

Brandon Garlock, as per
http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/Eee_PC_1005HA_Seashell/#support
an update is available for your BIOS (1601). If you update to this
following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change
anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
Computer Freezes(Can move mouse and use CTRL+ALT+F12)

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I am using an eeepc 1005ha with 2 gig ram and 1.6 ghz intel atom.

Computer freezes after a random amount of time of use. I can move the
mouse but it remains stuck with the icon it had on the time of freeze.
Nothing else on the screen changes.

My typical setup is dual monitor with a terminal on one screen and
  firefox on another.

I have switched to chrome and still see the problem.

When I did CTRL+ALT+F12 and used top I did not see any processes
taking up excessive cpu or ram.

I don't know what package this would relate to so I will gladly provide further logs, etc if asked.
