[Bug 1095647] Re: Brightness function keys incorrectly mapped on Toshiba U845W-S410

Martin Albisetti, as per
http://support.toshiba.com/support/driversResults?freeText=3386717 an
update is available for your BIOS (6.40). If you update to this
following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change
anything?

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
Brightness function keys incorrectly mapped on Toshiba U845W-S410

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
The brightnes keys on the Toshiba U845W-S410 don't work, they seem to be mapped to something else. Increasing brightness suspends the laptop and decreasing opens up power statistics.
  I've tested it with 12.04, 12.10 and an up-to-date 13.04.
