[Bug 1202905] Re: Display configuration lost with the last update of Linux
VinsS, as per http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page? an update is available for your BIOS (2AKT51A). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.
For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.
Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
8086:2572 [Lenovo ThinkCentre A50p] Display configuration lost with
the last update of Linux
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Since the last update of Linux header, at each startup on my 64 bytes
machine with Precise 12.04, I've a message saying my display is not
recognized. The startup is bloked until I accept to continue in low
resolution.
Yesterday, I've updated my other pc, a 32 bytes also, with Precise
12.04, and the same issue appears.
Now, on both machines, the program System >> Preferences >> Display
say the screen is unknow and the feature 'Detect the display' is not
operating.
Note: the resolution on the two machines is exact (1600x900)
I join the two Xorg.log
