** Description changed:

I installed Ubuntu 12.10 (x86_64) on a MacBook Air (5,2) and the wifi
worked fine with the kernel linux-image-3.5.0-17-generic. Later new
kernels came with the updates and wifi stopped working. It doesn't work
  with linux-image-3.5.0-19-generic,linux-image-3.5.0-21-generic,linux-
- image-3.5.0-22-generic.
+ image-3.5.0-22-generic. I don't know this additional driver is necessary
+ or not, but I think a kernel update shouldn't break any driver.

- Disabling the Broadcom additional driver helped, so wifi is usable again with this workaround. I don't know this additional driver is necessary or not, but I think a kernel update shouldn't break any driver.
- ---
+ WORKAROUND: Disable the Broadcom additional driver.
