Title:
KDE powermanagement crashes kernel
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I have a Dell Latitude D6510 running (K)ubuntu 13.10 with the current
kernel (3.11.0-14). In KDE when I pull the power cord, the system
instantly freezes - completely, leaving no helpful traces of the cause
in syslog or pm-powersave.log.
It does not happen w/o a running KDE session or when I switch to Unity
or XFCE. Hence, I suspect KDE triggering the bug.
Googling for "power unplug crash linux kernel" yields a bunch of
somewhat similiar issues, but those all seem slightly diffrent from
what I see. In fact, I have had the/an "unplug crash issue" before
like a year or so ago. Somehow it vanished, and now it is back again,
so this could be a kernel regression.
