  I am using Kubuntu, and the screen freezes on shutdown with the
  kubuntu logo showing. Tried kernel parameters reboot=pci and
  reboot=bios but didn't change anything.

  WORKAROUND: Suspend to ram, suspend to disk and rebooting works fine.
