I do not wish to modify my 13.10 installation of the HDD.

If I liveCD boot the current daily image of 14.04, then ubuntu-bug
linux, is that good enough for you?

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  On a newly installed 11.04 on a Samsung N130 netbook, I occasionally
  (i.e. every 5th booting) get the following message displayed during
  startup:

  The disk drive for /dev/mapper/cryptswap1 is not ready yet or not present
  Continue to wait; or Press S to skip mounting or M for manual recovery

  
  When it happens, when the boot is over and I log in, sometimes (not always), swap is not mounted.
