The bug was not good reproducable, since only on my production system,
which I had updated to 11.10 then. I'm now using 13.10 and cannot see
the bug any more in terms of boot up time. I'll let you know if it comes
up again.
Kind regards and thank you for your help,

Title:
Xubuntu 11.10 shutdown/restart leaves fs unclean
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Hi there,
on my Xubuntu 11.10 system there's an annoying bug: No matter wether I
choose restart or shutdown the filesystem is not unmounted cleanly,
i.e. fsck has to work every time the machine is started. This
behaviour shows up with any of my users. The "entry point" for
shutdown/reboot is neither important: user desktop or login screen.
I've tried gdm and lightdm, both show the same erraneous behaviour.
I don't know where to dig further so there's no logfile attached here.
Any ideas please?
