[Bug 1046088] Re: No Brightness Control on ASUS G75VW Notbook (304.43)

Got it "almost" working on elementary OS Lune (based on Precise).

Used to modify /etc/default/grub and xorg.conf on my previous installs,
but brightness controls would only work after resuming from suspend.

I did a new install, and simply installed the latest Nvidia driver in
the repos (319), as well as xbacklight. That did the trick. I can now
modify the brightness with the xbacklight command without doing any
modification to grub or Xorg config, and without having to resume from
suspend. The brightness keys and the brightness slider in Settings still
don't work though, but I assigned keyboard shortcuts to "xbacklight -inc
10" and "xbacklight -dec 10" and it works ok.

I doesn't really fix the bug, but is much more convenient and simple
that tinkering with various config files. I haven't tested it on pure
Ubuntu though, but I guess it should also work.
