Title:
ALPS Touchpad recognized as PS/2 Generic Mouse
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
On my Dell Inspiron 15R (Dell N5110) the touchpad is recognized as PS/2 Generic Mouse.
I tried some solutions and tips and none of them worked. I found a Work-In-Progress driver in #550625 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/550625)
This didn't work for me either.
Seth Forshee in comment #431 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/550625/comments/431) asked me to file different bug, because my hardware is somewhat different.
And here I am!
There is no scrolling, no multitouch and I can't deactivate my touchpad, because it is recognized as PS/2 mouse (OK, I can but only with 'sudo rmmod psmouse' and until next system start).
After installing 0.6 version (http://people.canonical.com/~sforshee/alps-touchpad/psmouse-alps-0.6/psmouse-alps-dkms_0.6_all.deb)
sudo rmmod psmouse
sudo modprobe psmouse
