[Bug 621253] Re: parport_pc not loaded automatically

Rolf Leggewie, in a default install of Trusty this would appear available:
lsmod | grep parport_pc
parport_pc 32701 0
parport 42348 3 lp,ppdev,parport_pc

Would this work for you? If not, could you please execute the following in a terminal:
apport-collect 621253

** Description changed:

- This is kind of a spin-off from bug 369850 to start off again with a
- clean, manageable slate.
-
- I am running lucid on my LAN server. The parport_pc module is needed
- for the parallel port to work correctly. But it's not autoloaded on
- reboot: http://blog.leggewie.org/?p=70 unless I list parport_pc in
- /etc/modules
