Title:
usb 3.0 module get lost from initrd every upgrade (packaging problem)

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I have an external USB3.0 HDD. It is connected all the time, and so I
put it in /etc/fstab under /mnt/disk.

The problem is — every time I get linux kernel upgraded, I lost my
disk with error message "/mnt/disk cannot be mounted. Continue to
wait, or Press S to skip mounting or M for manual recovery". After
pressing M I realize, that there is no xhci module and there is no
/dev/sdb also. Skipping mounting let me boot the rest of the system,
  without external disk.

WORKAROUND: Executing the following solves the problem:
  sudo dpkg-reconfigure linux-image-3.2.0-XX-generic
