[Bug 1110930] Re: Ubuntu 12.10 64bit general protection fault: 0000 [#1] SMP during writes to a luks encrypted filesystem (ext4) sitting atop a software RAID5
Dan Price, as per your https://launchpadlibrarian.net/129981638/BootDmesg.txt :
[ 0.461491] [Firmware Bug]: ACPI: BIOS _OSI(Linux) query ignored
Hence, as per us.msi.com/product/mb/P67A-G43--B3-.html#/?div=BIOS an update is available for your BIOS (1.J). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate , does it change anything? If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and just provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.
Thank you for your understanding.
