[Bug 1267525] Re: Full USB ports crash after installing Ubuntu 12.04.03 LTS
David Bourguignon, thank you for your comments. There is really nothing anyone can do about the problem with your hardware, if you could not at least use a live environment ( http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ ) and run the apport-collect at a terminal:
apport-collect 1267525

Title:
Full USB ports crash after installing Ubuntu 12.04.03 LTS
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I experienced a related issue to Bug #1250726 (I think) after
installing Ubuntu 12.04.03 LTS (downloaded on January 6th, 2014) on a
desktop PC.
Everything went fine during install. After roughly 30 minutes of
usage, I experienced a complete crash of all USB ports (I had both
keyboard and mouse on USB 2.0 ports, and other USB 3.0 were not usable
any more). After rebooting, I experienced the same problem again after
roughly 20 minutes of usage. Very serious issue, indeed.
This desktop PC was then moved to Windows 8.0 and everything went fine
from now on. No crashes at all for days and weeks. Therefore, I
concluded that this problem was lying 100% on Ubuntu side.
Here is my configuration ( I can provide more info if necessary):
- Motherboard: Asrock H67M
- CPU : Intel Core i5 2400S 2.5GHz (x64)
- RAM: Corsair DDR3 4GB
- Keyboard and mouse: Logitech
