[Bug 1261237] Re: 10de:0653 [Asus K70IO] System crashes (freezes) while LibreOffice is running
Dear Christopher, thank you very much for you reply! I beg pardon for responding so late - I could not try your suggestion until now.
I updated the BIOS: now - from what I could see - LibreOffice seems not freezing the system anymore, but 'simply' crash Compiz.
Giving in a terminal the command
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
I obtained the following output:

Trying to play around with LibreOffice options, I could however observe that my problem seems related to the use of the sidebar: after deactivating the latter, crashes and freezes seems to be disappeared... Well, until now.
>From what I could see, I'm induced to think the bug is actually related to Compiz - likely, to its management ot the Nvidia graphic card.
