[Bug 1245327] Re: [Acer Aspire 5750-9668] Laptop shuts down when the power cord is adjusted

** Description changed:

What is expected to happen is when one adjusts the power cord slightly
  is the computer doesn't shutdown.

What happens instead is looks like it received a shutdown event.
Previously, when I was using Raring with an HDD i386, a message would
pop up asking if I wanted to shutdown, which I didn't. However, now that
I'm using an SSD, it just immediately starts shutting down without my
being able to either prevent the event altogether, or say no.

This is not an issue where when one adjusts the power cord, is it
causing the machine to immediately lose power (hard shutoff). The system
does have a battery that functions without AC power.

This also occurs when pressing the power button, however this part of
the issue is covered in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4
  -power-manager/+bug/1262929 .

WORKAROUND: Don't jiggle the point where the power cord meets the board,
just pull straight out or straight in.
+
+ WORKAROUND: gksudo mousepad /etc/acpi/powerbtn.sh
+
+ change:
+ /sbin/shutdown -h now "Power button pressed"
+
+ to:
+ # /sbin/shutdown -h now "Power button pressed"

Title:
[Acer Aspire 5750-9668] Laptop shuts down when the power cord is
slightly adjusted, or power button pressed accidently

  3) What is expected to happen is when one adjusts the power cord
slightly, or accidently presses the power button, the computer doesn't
  immediately begin to shutdown.

  4) What happens instead is looks like it received a shutdown event.
Previously, when I was using Raring with an HDD i386, a message would
pop up asking if I wanted to shutdown, which I didn't. However, now
that I'm using an SSD, it just immediately starts shutting down
without my being able to either prevent the event altogether, or say

This is not an issue where when one adjusts the power cord, is it
causing the machine to immediately lose power (hard shutoff). The
system does have a battery that functions without AC power.

WORKAROUND: Don't jiggle the point where the power cord meets the
board, just pull straight out or straight in.

  WORKAROUND: gksudo mousepad /etc/acpi/powerbtn.sh
