Chrome Version (from the about:version page):17.0.939.0 (Build de développement 110052 Linux)
Is this the most recent version: yes
  OS + version:Ubuntu 11.10
  CPU architecture (32-bit / 64-bit):32-bit
  Window manager: Unity 2D
  URLs (if relevant): gmail.com
Behavior in Linux Firefox: no problem
Behavior in Windows Chrome (if you have access to it): no access

What steps will reproduce the problem?
  1. Go to address https://mail.google.com/
  2. Use gmail for a few seconds/minutes (varying time)

  What is the expected result?
  Should work without problem.

  What happens instead?
The network connection crashes, not only gmail connection, but all my network connection. I should use 'sudo ip link set eth0 down' then 'sudo ip link set eth0 up' to have my connection back. This behaviour is reproductible every time. I have no problem using chromium on other site, even google site. I try to clear cache but it does not solve the problem. Sometimes, the problem arise during the loading of gmail, sometimes it arises after a few minutes.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot
  and backtrace if possible.

I do not use wifi, but hard link.
The problem arise with my both gmail account. No gmail labs activated.
