[Bug 991130] Re: Can't use Hauppage HVR-950Q USB tuner [2040:7200] from user applications, bad permissions

Is the file name "99-hauppage.rules" significant? Should it be spelled
correctly hauppauge?

Title:
  Can't use Hauppage HVR-950Q USB tuner [2040:7200] from user
  applications, bad permissions

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  This device is properly recognized but requires firmware (which is a
  separate issue) and proper permissions.

  I needed to add a udev rules file (/etc/udev/rules.d/99-hauppage.rules
  ) with this: SUBSYSTEM=="usb",ATTRS{idVendor}=="2040",
  ATTRS{idProduct}=="7200", MODE="0666"

  Such rules should be automatically added. The above worked for me but
  I didn' t research if there was a better way to acocmplish this.
