[Bug 1276238] Re: Wifi Connection Dropping/Need to reconnect
Jason: It looks like the problems happen when associating. Sometimes you
get a successful association, but then a short time later wpa_supplicant
tries to roam to another AP and the association with the new AP fails.
Unfortunately the logs don't really tell much about why association
fails.
I've got a script you can use to collect more information. Download
http://people.canonical.com/~sforshee/wifi-debug and make it executable.
Make sure you have the iw and tshark packages installed, then run 'sudo
wifi-debug -p'. Let it run for a few minutes or so while you're
experiencing the problems, then press Ctrl-C to stop it. When it
finished you'll have a file named wifi-debug-files.tar.gz in the
directory where you ran the script. Please give me this file.
Note that the script will collect a lot of data, including the network
data sent and received on your wireless interface. The data is encrypted
as long as you're connecting to protected networks, but if you're
concerned you can supply the file to me privately. The file is likely to
be fairly large as well, so keep that in mind.
Thanks!
