Thank you for the feedback.
It seems the hang is resolved with the dock firmware update (2.17)
provided by Lenovo. As far as I am concerned I think this bug can be
closed.
If I understand correctly, MST support is entire different thing.
Is there already a bug/feature req. for this?

I'm running with a Thinkpad T440s and ultra dock with hdmi<->hdmi. In
my case if I dock when hdmi is connected to the dock, the mouse and
keyboard freeze once connected. When I undock they unfreeze. If I
dock when hdmi is not connected to the dock, the mouse and keyboard
don't freeze.
