Title:
Sound crashes on Ubuntu 13.10
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I have installed Ubuntu 13.10 on my Lenovo IdeaPad U330p and I get
random sound crashes. There is no sound what so ever from the speakers
and testing sound from the GUI doesn't work even when the normal sound
works. The crashes seem to happen after I restart the computer or when
I wake it up from standby.
Solving the problem may take more iterations of the following procedures:
1)
sudo alsa reload
or
2)
sudo apt-get remove --purge alsa-base pulseaudio
sudo apt-get install alsa-base pulseaudio
sudo alsa force-reload
The methods for getting back sound have been taken from here: http://itsfoss.com/fix-sound-ubuntu-1304-quick-tip/
The problem is that this appears to happen randomly when I start my computer, so doing the before-mentioned steps is not really that fun.
Maybe helpful:
1)sudo aplay -l
