Title:
recent kernel upgrade broke lirc with mceusb
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Not sure if this should be submitted to the kernel or lirc. What changed was the kernel, what I modified to fix the issue was lirc. I've been using the lirc for years with success. A recent update broke it. The error message when starting liric (/etc/init.d/lric start) is:
* Unable to load LIRC kernel modules. Verify your
* selected kernel modules in /etc/lirc/hardware.conf
I read online that there has been a change of modules included with
the kernel that can trigger this problem. With the change mentioned,
my remote is working as it used to.
WORKAROUND: Modified /etc/lirc/hardware.conf :
#REMOTE_MODULES="lirc_dev lirc_mceusb"
Added the line:
REMOTE_MODULES="mceusb"
