The "huawei/ndisdup-changes" branch upstream might solve this:

/ndisdup-changes
in addition to some kernel changes mentioned. According to
https://mail.gnome.org/archives/networkmanager-
list/2012-November/msg00129.html, these changes are not available in
Quantal, as I get:
