[Bug 1288233] Re: Failed loading after update to 3.13.0-15 kernel. VmWare virt.
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.14 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.
If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.
If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".
Thanks in advance.

Title:
Failed loading after update to 3.13.0-15 kernel. VmWare virt.
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Hello! Have a server under VMWare virtualisation in cloudatcost.com,
Canada. After updating to last 3.13 kernel (previously i have updated
raring to trusty) i have a bug:
Root device dnt exist after loading initram - updating to linux-image-3.13.0-15-generic invoking that problem.
I have now two kernels in system: 3.8 and 3.13.0-15. First 3.8 loading success, but 3.13.0-15 now have a problem with llvm and udev - root device do not exists and i have BusyBox shell such as:
ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/[MYUDIDNUMBER] does not exist. Dropping to a
shell!
BusyBox
Before 3.13.0-15 i have also 3.13 kernel, but older and loading was succes without any warning or errors. Now i using 3.8 raring kernel on that server. 3.8 and 3.13 have a same grub config with same UDDID's, but 3.13.0-15 have the issue with this problem.
