Apparently NetworkManager deactivates the device for some reason. I'm not familiar with NetworkManager, let's ask an expert.

Bug description:
Failed to finish driver activation correctly, installing broadcom
wireless driver by using Addtional Drivers (Jockey) cannot be
finished, because wl seems not correctly built.
To verify this issu, execute the same steps in bug 1279690 .
Also tired out the patch in bug 1173761 ,and following steps in
comment #55 and #58 [0], still not fixing the problem.
