[Bug 1287635] Re: [Broadcom BCM43142, BCM4313] STA wireless driver failed to activate on 12.04.4

 

Here are a few more clues from the first apport file:

NetworkManager[1220]: <info> (eth1): device state change: disconnected

NetworkManager[1220]: <info> radio killswitch
/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1c.1/0000:04:00.0/ieee80211/phy0/rfkill1
disappeared

wpa_supplicant[1357]: Could not read interface eth1 flags: No such
device


Apparently NetworkManager deactivates the device for some reason. I'm not familiar with NetworkManager, let's ask an expert.

Bug description:
  Failed to finish driver activation correctly, installing broadcom
  wireless driver by using Addtional Drivers (Jockey) cannot be
  finished, because wl seems not correctly built.

  To verify this issu, execute the same steps in bug 1279690 .

  Also tired out the patch in bug 1173761 ,and following steps in
  comment #55 and #58 [0], still not fixing the problem.
