Title:
acpi-table is mixed up after reboot on HP-laptop. Fan blows
continously
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: acpid
On my HP Compaq 8710p the ACPI does not get reset well.
I used this script:
cat /proc/acpi/fan/C376/state
cat /proc/acpi/fan/C377/state
cat /proc/acpi/fan/C378/state
cat /proc/acpi/fan/C379/state
cat /proc/acpi/fan/C37A/state
cat /proc/acpi/fan/C37B/state
cat /proc/acpi/fan/C393/state
cat /proc/acpi/fan/C394/state
cat /proc/acpi/fan/C395/state
cat /proc/acpi/fan/C396/state
cat /proc/acpi/fan/C397/state
If I turn of my laptop for a few minutes and turn it on again, I get:
status: off
status: off

If I reboot, or turn on the laptop within a few minutes I get:
status: off

The result is that the fan blows at full speed, which is very annoying
(and battery consuming). Bios is compiled with MSFT-compiler. Can
Ubuntu force the table to be reset during boot?
