Title:
Laptop locks up once all memory used and encrypted swap in use
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Present state:
KiB Mem: 3936908 total, 3737952 used, 198956 free, 12312 buffers
KiB Swap: 4194300 total, 862544 used, 3331756 free, 1215956 cached
If, for instance, more chrome tabs are opened, the pointer stutters
and eventually the laptop locks up. Encrypted swap is 4gb in size and
on an SSD. The UI is unusable. The easiest recovery is to switch to
a VT and kill a process.
Swapon -s gives:
Filename Type Size Used Priority
/mnt/4096.swap file 4194300 862192 -1
