Title:
Opening a particular web page in firefox causes Linux to crash

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
Visiting the following link in Firefox causes the entire OS to lock
  up.

  The_Times-1935-11-11-13-013&pageId=ARCHIVE-The_Times-1935-11-11-13

On three separate attempts, a slightly different result appeared:
  - GUI froze with black screen and frozen mouse cursor. Alt-SysRq keys not responsive.
  - GUI froze on current display. Numlock and scrolllock lights flashing. Alt-SysRq keys not responsive.
  - GUI froze then faded to light blue. Could sync and reboot with Alt-SysRq keys.

This is a serious issue as it consistently causes a kernel panic/crash
and resulted in data loss on at least one attempt.

I tried to reproduce the issue in a VirtualBox VM, but it worked fine
  there.
