[Bug 1300416] Re: Install of 14.04 fails with 3.13.0-20-generic kernel

Roderick - does it make any difference if you use an ethernet cable
during the install ? It appears you're having some issues with a
Broadcom wireless driver.

Title:
Install of 14.04 fails with 3.13.0-20-generic kernel

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I've tried installing the latest daily build of Trusty server, with a
3.13.0-20-generic kernel, on several Lenovo ThinkPad models (X121e,
X131e, and L330). It's failed on every one of them. The installer
hangs on an empty purple screen (see screen shot). Switching to VT4
reveals kernel error messages, which also appear in /var/log/syslog.
(A bash shell can be obtained on VT2 or VT3 to retrieve this log
file.) I'm attaching a copy of the log file.
