[Bug 1309730] Re: After upgrading from 13.10 to 14.04 system says major disk failure when using kernel 3.13.0.24
This issue appears to be an upstream bug, since you tested the latest
upstream kernel. Would it be possible for you to open an upstream bug
report[0]? That will allow the upstream Developers to examine the issue,
and may provide a quicker resolution to the bug.
Please follow the instructions on the wiki page[0]. The first step is to
email the appropriate mailing list. If no response is received, then a
bug may be opened on bugzilla.kernel.org.
Once this bug is reported upstream, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-
reported-upstream'.

when using default linux kernel 3.13.0.24
Hardware configuration
Dell inspiron One
Intel® Core™ i3 CPU M 370 @ 2.40GHz × 4
Software installation
2 partitions formatted windows/7
Installed on a partition installed with wubi, filesystem in a 30.6 Gb file
Grub installed with dual boot Windows/7 or Ubuntu
After upgrading to 14.04 system cannot boot with default kernel linux 3.13.0-24
It shows a terminal with restritected command line or says file system is damaged !
Work arroud : with grub i could select kernel linux 3.11.0-20
