[Bug 1315073] Re: Fresh Ubuntu 64-bit install boots with no keyboard, mouse, or network
That is good news. That means the Ubuntu kernel will pick up the fix
when it gets the 3.13.11 updates, which is currently in proposed.
Would it be possible for you to test this latest kernel and post back if it resolves this bug?
See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed.
Thank you in advance!

Title:
Fresh Ubuntu 64-bit install boots with no keyboard, mouse, or network
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Triaged
Bug description:
Hardware: Cyberpower Z77 computer, including the following relevant
parts:
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z77-HD3 Intel Z77 Chipset
Video Card: nVidia 760
Hard Drive: Samsung 128GB SSD, SATA3
Keyboard: Moshi Luna USB
Mouse: Razer USB gaming mouse
"Try Ubuntu 14.04 without installing" from USB key: No problems.
Install Ubuntu while in LiveCD environment: No problems (even browsed the web a bit).
On reboot, Ubuntu boots to LightDM, and that's as far as I can go.
The keyboard doesn't respond, though I can successfully toggle F-Lock
on and off and the lights are on. The mouse doesn't respond, and I
see no cursor. There's a notification in the upper-right hand corner
that there are no connected networks. I can't SSH in to get any logs.
WORKAROUND: Boot from LiveUSB; mount and chroot into install; download
and install Generic 3.14.1 MainLine kernel and reboot; everything is
fine. But I don't think I have to tell anyone how not-ideal that is,
especially since chrooting these days involves three or four mount
--bind commands that are difficult for people to remember.
This has occurred on Ubuntu and Ubuntu Gnome spins. This does not
occur with Fedora 20 (the only other distro I've tried on this
hardware).
