I installed the ubuntu kernel 3.5.0-49-generic from repositories.
Now dmesg | grep dvb gives:

[   22.979573] dvb-usb: found a 'AVerMedia A309' in cold state, will try to load a firmware

[   23.714971] dvb-usb: found a 'AVerMedia A309' in warm state.
[   23.715188] dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer.
[   24.206459] dvb-usb: AVerMedia A309 successfully initialized and connected.
[   24.215501] usbcore: registered new interface driver dvb_usb_af9015

But the card still doesn't work.
w_scan gives:

w_scan version 20130331 (compiled for DVB API 5.10)

Please check wether dvb driver is loaded and
verify that no dvb application (i.e. vdr) is running.

Could someone help me investigate the problem?

  I'm unable to use my DVB-T Card. It stopped working with linux kernel
  3.11. This is what I get after the update to Ubuntu 14.04:
