[Bug 1275973] Re: Dell XPS 13 (haswell) touchscreen works only after suspend-wakeup cycle on BATTERY (no AC)

Totally amazing! Touch pad works beautifully, edge scrolling, two finger
scrolling, touch screen recognized straight after boot! You are my
personal hero of the day, thank you very much!

What I noticed with the touchpad is that the cursor seems too lag behind
the finger a little bit, e.g. once the finger stops the cursor is still
moving a bit to catch up ..

Title:
Dell XPS 13 (haswell) touchscreen works only after suspend-wakeup
  cycle on BATTERY (no AC)

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
The touchscreen (ID 06cb:0af8 Synaptics, Inc. ) on the Dell XPS 13
only works after the computer has been:

  1. Unplugged from AC so it runs on battery
  2. Suspended to Ram
  3. Woken up from Ram

it will only work on battery, if plugged into AC the touch screen will
not work even after the suspend-wakeup cycle.

On login I get the notice that no touchpad has been found and I cannot
find and configure a touchpad in the settings (for multitouch,
scrolling etc), is the touchscreen and touchpad the same device as far
  as the OS is concerned?

  Ubuntu 3.11.0-15.25-generic 3.11.10
