I need some of you test the new kernel in comment #44 and report back,
so that I can re-submit the SRU.

I have tested it on Dell Inspiron 5547 which has a Synaptics i2c touchpad and Elan touchscreen.
Both devices work.

  It's better we can have it in 14.04 .
