sami, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. As per http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=N56VZ&os=30 an update to your BIOS is available (217). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BiosUpdate does it change anything?  If it doesn't, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the output of the following terminal command:
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

  Incomplete

Bug description:
  This bug is a regression between 3.8 and 3.11 kernel.
  Since the new 3.11 kernel, there is no more network statistics on ALX cards.

  This has already been discussed here : http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.network/278595
  But it seems not to be fixed.

  My card is an Atheros AR8161
