Dear Brad,

I have given up, I have one PC where Ubuntu half runs, not perfect either.
On my main PC  it does not even install properly, fails to see my monitor.
After I install the left side is invisible because it  gives me a very low resolution.

I have uninstalled now and I will look for another alternative OS, please
bear in mind that all my PC's run perfectly with XP.

Bug description:
  I had to connect another monitor to get this far, Ubuntu does not
  recognise my Iiyama LS704u CRT monitor . The 12.04 disc I made does
  not work at all, it finishes with a black screen. Thank God I didn't
  kill XP.
