Title:
system spontaneously awakes from sleep; other sleep problems
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I added KDE to an Ubuntu installation. When I'm in KDE, I've had
numerous problems with suspend to RAM, even though I don't believe I
had these problems in Unity.
The particular problem I just had, so perhaps the data apport
collected spotted something, was this: I deliberately suspended to
RAM. A few seconds later, the computer woke up without my doing
anything (did not touch the keyboard, etc.). This has happened
numerous times. For a while, I had to suspend twice whenever I wanted
the suspend to take hold.
[Other suspend problems, but which have not occurred just now: a)
system freezes when I initiate a suspend--have to hard shutdown
otherwise computer keeps running with nothing showing on either
display; b) system goes into suspend, and wakes right back up again a
few seconds later, for no apparent reason--can happen when I'm
watching a video or editing some text; c) system suspends and wakes up
when I move between activities]
I erased the contents of various system logs to see what records were
being generated when the problem occurs. Only two logs showed any
addition of material (from empty)--pm-suspend and pm-powersave. I'm
attaching them here. Because other logs will have no content, I'll
attach some older logs in case there's something that might be useful.
Best wishes figuring this out!
