Title:
[Dell XPS 13 (L321X)] Regression: audio stopped working after upgrade
  to 13.10

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
After the upgrade, sound stopped working for me. The volume would
always be set to 100% after booting, though I couldn't hear anything.

WORKAROUND: I went to the audio settings, and discovered that the hardware profile was set to "Digital Stereo (HDMI) Output". Changing it to "Analog Stereo Output" fixed the problem.
