[Bug 1133971] Re: Ralink Wireless/BT combo device does not work

Trusty is tested and the device could not work normally.
Wifi works but not stable.
BT is not enabled.

--------

201209-11733:
* before updating[1]:
  * wifi work
  * BT:
   * rfkill list, doesn't show BT
   * system setting -> bluetooth, shows BT is not available
   * nm-applet doesn't show BT
* after updating:
  * wifi work except could not establish AP n-wpa connection
  * BT
   * the same as the one before updating.

201209-11793:
* before updating:
  * wifi work
   * but I did't see AP bg-open was on the network-manager list
  * BT:
   * rfkill list, doesn't show BT
   * system setting -> bluetooth, shows BT is not available
   * nm-applet doesn't show BT
* after updating:
  * wifi work
   * AP bg-open was seen but AP n-wpa could not be established.
  * BT:
   * the same as the one before updating.

[1]:
updating means dist-upgrade,
including updating the kernel to be 3.13.0-30-generic #54

[2]:
the testing environment has the following AP types:
n-open
bg-open
n-wpa
bg-wpa

Title:
  Ralink Wireless/BT combo device does not work

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix
Status in “linux” source package in Quantal:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  Installed 12.04.2 on the HP Pavilion dm1.

  lspci shows the ralink wireless/bluetooth device:
  02:00.0 Network controller: Ralink corp. Device 3290
  02:00.1 Bluetooth: Ralink corp. Device 3298

  and rfkill shows that both devices are on and unblocked:
  ubuntu@201209-11793:~$ rfkill list
  0: hp-wifi: Wireless LAN
  	Soft blocked: no
  	Hard blocked: no
  1: hp-bluetooth: Bluetooth
  	Soft blocked: no
  	Hard blocked: no

  but there is no option for bluetooth settings or adding devices (just
  a status showing that BT is on). For wireless, nm-applet doesn't even
  show a wifi device at all.
