Verified with Edward's fix [1] with 201401-14528 201401-14530 
Backlight control works

1. Install 14.04, boot to desktop
2. Install kernel from [1], reboot
3. Adjust the backlight with hotkeys

Actual result:
* Backlight control works.

Bug description:
  CID: 201401-14530 Dell Inspiron 5547

  Unable to control the brightness on this system.

  1. Install 14.04 + update (3.13.0-29), boot to desktop
  2. Try to adjust the screen brightness with hotkeys and "Brightness and Lock" applet

  Expected result:
  * Screen brightness could be adjusted in both ways.

  Actual result:
  * Unable to control screen brightness, the brightness indicator would change according to key press on the hotkeys
