Title:
Microsoft Ergonomic Sculpt Keyboard and Mouse don't work

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Package version: 3.13.0-32.57
  Linux version 3.13.0-32-generic (buildd@kissel) (gcc version 4.8.2 (Ubuntu 4.8.2-19ubuntu1) ) #57-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 15 03:51:08 UTC 2014 (Ubuntu 3.13.0-32.57-generic 3.13.11.4)

  Description:	Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
  Release:	14.04

First off, this is a regression, as linux-
image-3.13.0-30-generic=3.13.0-30.55 and before worked just fine. Even
to type in encrypted root partition password.

To make sure other drivers' loading messages didn't interfere, I
unplugged and plugged the transceiver after booting. (But things look
the same during boot, just touchpad messages and the likes interwoven
  with these lines.)

  With -32.57, I see:

  Jul 18 13:12:08 eris kernel: [ 321.260831] usb 3-3: USB disconnect, device number 2
  Jul 18 13:12:08 eris kernel: [ 326.918573] usb 3-3: new full-speed USB device number 3 using xhci_hcd

  Jul 18 13:12:08 eris kernel: [ 326.939657] usb 3-3: Manufacturer: Microsoft

When booting -30.55, I get a lot more:

Attached is lspci -vnvn for -30.55, I will also upload for -32.57,
  along with lsusb output.

I tried to get usbmon output for (un+re)plugging, but was only able to get it on -30.55, as -32.57 seems to be missing the usbmon module.
