I started noticing this issue in 14.04. For sure that wasn't the case
for 13.04.

Yes, I think I will be able to test the latest upstream kernel.

Although I have a feeling that this issues is one of the consequences of
recent changes in the input model. I don't know exactly what happened,
but switching keyboard layout and caps lock key behaviour are all buggy
now.

I will update the report as soon as get the latest kernel installed.

  Hello,

  I run into this problem in two cases: renaming a file or folder in Nautilus and naming a bookmark in Chrome. If I want to switch keyboard layout (I set up caps lock for that) the text control loses the focus like if I pressed Esc.
