[Bug 1357232] Re: linux-image-3.13.0-34-generic renders Asus K52N unbootable
I can't send details of the current crash since all peripherals are dead (keyboard, mouse, network and probably everything else) if I boot into -34. However, the combination of upgrades makes for an interesting logic puzzle.
Initial 14.10 upgrade - no problems.
-34 upgrade, boot into -34 OR -32 - graphics screen fails, tty terminals okay.
14.10 reinstall WITHOUT reformatting (ie overwriting the files that have changed):
-34 boot: No peripherals.
-32 boot: Works.
Until this is fixed, I'm reluctant to add any more kernel updates. If
there's anything I can do to help, please let me know.

linux-image-3.13.0-34-generic renders Asus K52N unbootable
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I just upgraded to latest released kernel for trusty and a K52N Asus
laptop is unable to boot anymore: kernel crashes at startup.
I attach the output of lspci -vnvn
(I had to boot with linux-image-3.13.0-32-generic to use the system
again)
