[Bug 1357208] Re: laptop touchpad not working upon kernel upgrade
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream stable kernel?
Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the
latest v3.13 stable kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.
If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.
If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'.
Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".
Thanks in advance.

Title:
laptop touchpad not working upon kernel upgrade
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
My laptop model: HP Spectre 13t-h200 x2 PC
manufacturer of touchpad: I believe Synaptics. Supposed to have multi-touch (this works in Windows).
Symptom appeared: every time I booted into the listed newer kernel version, as well as the ones after (or at least the newest one).
When I was using kernel version 3.13.0-30-generic, the touchpad was
able to move the mouse. It could not do a two-finger scroll and I
would like to file this as a bug too, but I don't know where to file
it (can you give advice?). However this is not the current issue.
After upgrading to version 3.13.0-32-generic, the touchpad is no longer able to move the mouse. I have attached the `dmesg` output and the contents of '/proc/bus/input/devices' and /var/log/Xorg.0.log after booting into each kernel.
