Message #77230
[Bug 1361639] [NEW] `linux-generic-lts-trusty` is not described as a metapackage
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
Hi,
The `linux-generic-lts-trusty` package is not described as a metapackage
by `dpkg` or `apt-cache`, thus the output of `dpkg -l` (which just
describes both `linux-generic-lts-trusty` and `linux-image-generic-lts-
trusty` as containing kernel images) isn't great at describing that they
are not simply one and the same.
I'm running 12.04, trying to install the 14.04 HWE (linux-generic-lts-
trusty v3.13.0.34.30).
I asked about this on ubuntu-users, and was asked to file a bug.
