Alexander Gabriel, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu
better. The Raring enablement kernel is EoL as per
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack . Is this reproducible
in the latest enablement kernel?

  the device is remounted in ro mode because something fails which leads to a corrupted journal
  tested with multiple drives,
  also affects ubuntu 13.10,
  appears when connected to usb3 or usb2 (usb1 and usb1.1 not tested)
