[Bug 1368003] Re: perf trace not compiled in
libaudit-dev is a universe package in Precise (12.04). The kernel (being
in main) cannot be dependent on a universe package for security policy
reasons. libaudit-dev was not promoted to main until Trusty (14.04)
** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Precise)

Title:
perf trace not compiled in
Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Status in “linux” source package in Precise:
Won't Fix
Bug description:
Running 'perf trace' with perf from linux-lts-trusty-tools-3.13.0-35
returns the following error:
perf: 'trace' is not a perf-command. See 'perf --help'.
This is probably due to the fact that libaudit-dev was not available at compile time.
Is it an oversight or was it left out intentionally ?
Adding 'libaudit-dev' to Build-Depends, installing it and rebuilding
the package makes the 'perf trace' command work.
