To replicate the bug:
"SD-card 4GB": Sandisk Extreme III SDHC 6 4GB
"SD-card 8GB": Sandisk Ultra SDHC 6 8GB
"SD-card 16GB": Sandisk Ultra SDHC I 6 16GB
The three cards are not write protected and can be read/written to on
xubuntu 14.04 using a usb card reader.
Wifi is on, ethernet is off (no plug connected)
Insert "SD 4GB"
no action, the sd-card is not mounted on the desktop
