HI Joseph,
I can try out the latest Kernel. I just tried to follow the instructions for replacing with the proposed Kernel and it looks like Aptitude is replacing the Kernel.
But afterwards when I run "uname -r" it claims that I still have the old Kernel installed: 3.13.0-36-generic
I don't know how to replace the Kernel then.

When i run my Ubuntu server over night I often wake up the next
